MONEY THE NEW RELIGION.

image
Mulla, cheda, mkwanjez, paper, doo, loot …...” these are just but a few of the names that money is given depending on your locality. It is famed because of its use as legal tender. ‘Where would we be if it were not for this medium of exchange. No money, no goods or services would be rendered or given. This is one powerful commodity without which life would come to a stand still. My only question is,”do you think we take money to be some sort of a demigod”.
Why do i say this, have you ever realized that without money there is not much one can accomplish or possess. You can’t buy that beautiful house you dreamed of, or purchase that sweet ride you have ever wanted, or have food & shopping, or pay your bus fare & so forth and so on. I know, it sucks right! We are told that money is the root of all evil, but i really doubt that. I have come to realize that the lack of money is the real root of evil.
When one does not have those crisp notes in his/her pocket or bank account, there is no means which will not be used to acquire it. We live in a world where money is put above everything else. It is taken to be the answers to nearly all our problems. Time & time again i have heard it said that money can’t buy happiness. Ha! That is just talk, there is not one single person who i know who has money that is sad.
The only emerging issue is that when greed gets involved that is when money just becomes a means to an end. Those with it want more & more and will do whatever is necessary to acquire it. The unfortunate ones will get their hands dirty so as to be able to have a piece of the sweet pie. We need to take one thing into consideration, when we let the desire of having money cloud our judgment then we are lost like sailors at the sea going through a storm.
Yes money is a necessity but the level at which we as human beings have exalted it, it has become deemed as a god, worshiped and taken as a religion. Whereby one will do whatever is necessary to have it. Take caution when you are in pursuit of your happiness, least it consumes you & makes you its slave. In the modern world we chase it to our graves, not getting satisfied with what we have but yearning to have more. Losing focus on what is important, our basic survival and not to out do each other.
