TOUGHEN UP.

“Life has become so hard”, this is one of the most common phrase that you will hear on a daily basis especially in the current tough times. The cost of living has escalated to levels never seen before. Going for shopping for basic household items has become like a mission in the amazon jungle. Difficult times tend to keep us on our toes, if we do not formulate plans to ensure and secure our futures well then, we will be in deep waters.
This may be the case, but have you ever realized that when you are in a tough spot you get all creative. You tend to think on your feet, coming up with back up plans to back up plans. If there were no difficult times in the lives, we will all be soft and unable to fend for ourselves. We would all shy away from any challenge or difficult that might come across our path. Tough times do not last but tough people do.
It has been said that the best off things do not come easy. Hence the reason as to why we are always told to work hard in all we do. Challenges or barriers in life are meant to mold us to be better than we are. The difference between stumbling blocks and stepping stones is how you use them. Obstacles don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.
When everything seems to be going against you, do remember that the airplane always goes against the wind. In the wise words of Thomas Paine, “I love those who can smile in trouble, who can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. ‘It is the business of little minds to shrink, but they whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves their conduct, will pursue their principles unto death”.
