I AM MY FATHER’S CHILD.

“Where to begin, i wonder, so much to say so little time”. Let me just start from the beginning. We all have a desire that one day or another we shall be a father to a son or daughter. A day in which, your child shall look deep into your eyes and saying,”daddy I love you daddy” and you look at him/her smile and say,”I love you too my angel/little man”. Every child wishes to have a role model to emulate and look up to. As a man you have the responsibility of being a father figure.
The likes of which your child will see you as a father, provider, protector & someone to look up to. Fatherhood is a tedious task it may seem easy at first but as your child continues to grow so do the demands. It is universally known that the man is the head of the family, the anchor upon which the rest of the family hold onto. You are not merely a donor but as a father it does not mean that your job is only in the securing of the entrance of your child into the world but to be there in their up-bring.
You have to man up & take the reins in ensuring that your child grows up knowing that no matter what she faces you will always be a whisper away. The way you display yourself will be critical as your child grows up, because he/she will want to be more like you. The kind of example that you set is vital for the up bringing of your young one. If you have disciplined mannerism he/she will try to emulate the way in which you are handling yourself.
The quality of a father can be seen in the goals, dreams and aspirations he sets not only for himself, but for his family. A father is someone who holds you when you cry, scolds you when break the rules, shines with pride when you succeed and has faith in you even when you fail. He will catch you before you fall, but instead picks you up and brushes you off, and lets you try again.
Since it has been known that a small child will always copy the behaviors of the adults around him/her. So, if you are a smoker or drinker he/she may follow suit and be just like you. It is thus important that as a father try to set the best example for your child. As it is said in Swahili,“mtoto umleavyo ndivyo akuavyo” this means how you raise a child that is how he/she will grow up to be.
